  • Added: Can I retire a character?  In regular play Age of Ashes only allows for one player to play one character at a time, so in the case that a player wishes to stop playing a character, they may retire that character and play a new one instead. In the case that that character still has ongoing plot or is engaged in an active dispute, that retired character will become an NPC if needed. Only up to 30 unspent XP may be carried over to the new character.
  • Added: What if I go up on staff or guild? In the event that a player joins staff or guild we will arrange for the character to leave the theater,  and return after their tenure is up. It is Age of Ashes policy that staff and dedicated NPC guild members do not play PCs while volunteering.

  • Changed: This badge, when presented to staff, allows anyone who holds it to to spend prestige points for that organization.

  • Under Firearms changed: Currently Age of Ashes allows front-loaded spring powered stock commercial blasters that fire standard Elite/Mega darts or equivalent darts. We do not allow for NERF Rival series, disk shooters, air soft or any Rival similar high velocity ball shooters, and our FPS cap for dart blasters is 100 FPS- which we will test via range testing or chronograph. Regarding modifications of nerf weapons, we welcome cosmetic modification on weapons but ask you do not change any of the stock firing components to increase performance. This includes barrel attachments or stock attachments that directly relate to firing performance.
  • To: Currently Age of Ashes allows front-loaded spring powered stock commercial blasters that fire standard Elite/Mega darts or equivalent darts. We allow all professionally manufactured soft tip darts, but we do not allow for individual modifications on darts, nor do we allow disks or ball ammunition. Similarly we do not allow for NERF Rival series, disk shooters, airsoft, or any Rival similar high velocity ball shooters.  Our FPS cap for dart blasters is 110 FPS- which we will test via chronograph. Generally we will take five measurements and take the average of those measurements. Regarding modifications of nerf weapons, we welcome cosmetic modifications and allow performance modifications as long as you can provide staff with a list of modifications that you have made and explain what their purpose is at which point staff will determine the safety of the modified firearm.  All firearms should have a consistent FPS within a margin of error and we do not allow mods that create a variable FPS such as pump action.
  • Changed from: Thrown Weapons– A weapon with no core. These may take on many shapes from daggers to rocks.
  • To: Thrown Weapons- A weapon with no core. These may take on many shapes from daggers to rocks. Most thrown weapons are considered light weapons and may not exceed the light weapon size.  Thrown weapons of larger size, such as Javelins, require a speciality schematic and must be thrust safe. No ranged weapons may be batted out of the air.
  • Under Downed added: A downed, unconscious or otherwise incapacitated person may be pulled at half-speed, while Carry or other abilities are necessary to move someone who is not incapacitated or to move an incapacitated person at full-speed.

  • Changed: Many Fallacies are morbid or creepy in nature, making it uncomfortable at times for people to deal with Magicians. Fallacies that are substituted must be of a similar theme, for example, “virgin blood” may be substituted by “normal blood” but cannot be substituted by water, or urine. If the substitution is not of a similar theme, the spell acquires a higher anacusis level roll and cannot be cast. Fallacies come in 3 levels: Minor, Major, and Rare, and their availability is directly dictated by this category. What the Fallacy is, exactly, is defined in the spell scroll.
  • To: Many Fallacies are morbid or creepy in nature, making it uncomfortable at times for people to deal with Magicians.  Fallacies have one of 14 different traits, 12 of which are common and two of which are rare.  These common traits are Stasis, Change, Decay, Purification, Destruction, Creation, Body, Spirit, Repulsion, Attraction, The Hidden, The Found. The rare traits are Void and Quintessence. Spell scrolls will call for fallacies of a certain trait, and any wyrd item with that trait can be used to fulfill that requirement. One or two wyrd items may be used for all three required traits as long as all three traits are present. Wyrd items may be physically represented by an opaque vial rather than requiring individual phys reps for all items.
